My Search

Today I am seventy-seven years of age. However, my journey to find whether I had a relationship with God began around age twelve. To many, this seems a useless search for, even if God exists, He is invisible to us. Invisible except for His works. Of course, if we look at what science calls physics and relativity we get lost in a forest of equations and higher mathematics. Knowing this by age twenty or so, I then had to eliminate what I was taught with what I could see. Decidedly, an unscientific approach but after a time of thinking on this path a few things became clear; the clearest came when I considered what mathematics has allowed us to do. It allowed us to formulate the atomic bomb, a device of magnificent destruction on par with the sun exploding. Then, I asked: What were we thinking?

The answer is age old. If we didn’t invent atomic bombs someone would have. History tells us the truth of this as it is clear now that the Nazi’s were on this path as well as the then Soviet Union. England was also working toward this discovery. Who knows who else. Now we have Iran trying to build a nuclear device. What is the old saying: You can’t put the Genie back in the bottle?

I write this this morning to let you know how long this has been on my mind. The invisibility factor of God against the minds of human beings. Then came to mind, “We shall make him in our image.” This from Genesis, the first book of the bible, as God spoke of creating mankind. How much like our Creator are we made? The atomic bomb is a clue as is our imperfection as God did not include perfection in our makeup after the horrible error made by our first parents: Adam and Eve.

This is a brief synopsis of what is coming here. I will take you on a journey toward faith in God as He is the one who created us and nobody who is honest can tell you that Neanderthals were a part of Gods creation. Piltdown man is also on this list as we assumed then that these were human but the proof is the fraud of this specimen. We don’t know as much as we think we do is the premise here. Leaps to truth hide the lie.

Truth is subtle when it comes to our existence but it is written for us to understand if we but take the time. Time is what is needed with learned trust in scripture. The sooner we start the sooner we will understand where in history we really are, for it is written.
